Questions parents ask

Which guide should I start with?

Pick the worry that sounds most like your child. Kindy to Year 2 children learning to read should start with the Reading System™. If spelling or writing is the issue, choose that system. For forgetting and focus, start with Brain Boosters. For homework fights, the Homework Hero Kit. If you’d like to cover reading, spelling and writing together, the Literacy Bundle saves $39.

Are these based on what my child learns at school?

Yes. The reading, spelling and writing guides follow the Australian Curriculum: English (Version 9) and the explicit, Science of Reading approach used in Australian schools. Each book includes a research page listing its sources.

I’m not a teacher. Will I know what to do?

Yes. Every page tells you what to say and do, and parent notes include the answers. If you can follow a recipe, you can use these guides.

How much time does it take?

About 10 minutes a day. Short, regular practice works better than long sessions, and keeps it fun.

Will this help with the Year 1 Phonics Check or NAPLAN?

The Reading System™ covers the sounds and “alien word” skill used in the Year 1 Phonics Check. The Writing System™ Years 3–6 builds the sentence, paragraph, persuasive and narrative skills NAPLAN writing looks for. We teach real skills, not test tricks.

My child finds learning hard. Will these help?

They’re step-by-step, multisensory and built for success, which suits many children who learn differently. They’re designed to sit alongside, not replace, support from your child’s school or specialist.

Is it screen time?

Almost everything is printable and done together at the table. Some guides include optional copy-paste prompts for parents to use with a free AI tool.

How do I get my guide?

Instantly. You’ll get a download link on screen straight after checkout and by email. Print at home, at the library or at an office supplies store.
